Identification
Glossy black with a distinctive red hourglass marking on the underside of the abdomen.
Habitat
Found in woodpiles, garages, sheds, under eaves, and in undisturbed clutter around the yard.
Why They're A Risk
Venomous. A bite can cause muscle pain and cramping and warrants medical attention.
What To Do
Don't handle it directly. Clear clutter where they hide and have the area treated professionally.
