Identification
Large, shiny black or dark brown, and slow-moving compared to other roaches.
Habitat
Prefer damp, cool areas: basements, crawl spaces, and drains. Often called "waterbugs."
Why They're A Risk
A sign of a moisture problem somewhere in the home. Where there's one, there's usually a damp spot feeding it.
Signs To Watch For
Sightings near drains, in basements, or in crawl spaces, especially after rain.
