Spiders
One of the most common spiders in California is the Black and Brown Widow spider. They tend to be around a half an inch in length with a large, shiny, black or brown abdomens. The underside usually has two small red marks that resemble an hourglass. They are not aggressive but will react if disturbed. Bites are painful, but not life threatening. Victims should however seek medical attention as soon as possible.
